SF Weekly Award Winner–Best Jazz Artist
And the Winners Are: Results from the '07 Music Awards
October 19, 2007

Last night at Ruby Skye, we placed some very special trophies in the hands of all the winners for this year's SF Weekly Music Awards. Here's a recap of who went home with a figure of a twisty dude holding a guitar:

Rap/Hip-Hop:The Federation
Electronic:Eats Tapes
International:Bayonics
Funk/Soul/R&B:Monophonics
Indie rock:The Dodos
Punk:Rock n Roll Adventure Kids
Jazz/Blues:Terrence Brewer
Experimental:Lemonade
Alt-Country:Or, the Whale
Club Night: Surya Dub

Best acceptance speech: The tall, tipsy gal who accepted on behalf of the Federation because she was "doing the drummer." She was followed by a pair of young ladies accepting on behalf of the Dodos for best indie rock. When asked what their relation to the band was, one gal quipped, "Well, that last girl took my line because I'm also doing the drummer." Here's to the healthy sex lives of our local drummers, and thanks to everyone who made this year's music awards a success.
